In 1962 Lena Horne released Lena on the Blue Side, a set of bluesy torch songs, on RCA Records. Featuring an orchestra conducted by Marty Gold and including songs written by George and Ira Gershwin, Irving Berlin, and Rodgers and Hammerstein, the album reached No. 102 on the Pop Albums Chart. Reissued on CD in Japan, it is now out of print.
