See You Later, Space Island (2022)

“See You Later, Space Island” is a work that makes use of speculative fiction to re-imagine possible futures and cosmologies from the island of Santa Maria, in the Azores, where the construction of the first European space base for launching rockets and microsatellites is planned. Set in a fictional future where the first satellites are already being launched from the island, the film follows the reunion of two friends when one of them, an astrophysicist scientist, returns to Santa Maria to work at an astronomical observatory.
