導演柯貞年5年前執導植劇場《天黑請閉眼》，抱回金鐘最佳戲劇殊榮，擅長類型劇的她，這次將再次挑戰執導改編自小說家李桐豪懸疑推理作品《非殺人小說》。王小棣大讚柯貞年是擁有推理天分的導演，「其實原著篇幅偏短，本來一度想之後再作改編，但柯貞年導演說OK，並且改編得非常好，她是我少數看到從起步開始，就擁有推理天分的導演。」

柯佳蕙2018年的长片剧本作品，以主角女儿小春和偷来的小神猪串起故事主轴，讲述代沟、城乡差异的都市描绘。此作故事简单，但人物性格鲜明、不落俗套，剧情铺排相当细腻动人，引人入胜，荣获第十届“拍台北”电影剧本征选首奖。
