民初，某城镇龙山集上， 一群土豪各占地盘，当中以龙爷势力最庞大。龙爷手段狠辣，某夜，将一侦缉队长用乱棍打死，遗下孤女叶凤，凤誓为父报仇。混乱中，有一流氓健，其不惧势力，常与当地黑社会作敌。一日，凤之未婚夫范明抵达龙山集，奉命侦缉龙爷。惜事为龙爷手下查悉而暗藏杀机。一偶然时机，健与明不期而遇，遂为好友。龙爷命手下杀明，将其打至重伤后掉下深海。其更加害凤，幸健赶往救出，带往妓院交与胭脂红照顾。龙爷见计得逞，命雷虎召妓狂欢，凤得此消息，便跟至.酒醉之际，凤抽出利刀，企图行刺龙爷，不慎失手被击晕，胭脂红睹状，亦执刀援手，终亦丧生。健回妓院，获知一切后只身深入虎穴，将众恶霸一一除掉，自己亦负伤倒地。此时，范明率众员警而至，可惜来迟一步，知己早已牺牲……

这部滑稽动作片并没有什么合理的故事情节，剧情也非常简单，一句话，就是小妹头露云娜被几名恶人追杀，被面恶心善的修车师傅大煞星乔宏出力相救……但是这部作为吴宇森早年在嘉禾电影公司拍摄的喜剧电影，当年可是香港票房前三名哟！

Ricky and Fatso are friends in need. They are in dire need of money since they are only paid slave wages at the bottling factory. However, they become millionaires overnight after buying a winning lottery ticket. During one of their swingin' nights on the town, Ricky is suddenly attacked by an upset stomach; and in no time, a quack doctor diagnoses the seizure as terminal cancer. Ricky seriously considers suicide. But he is appalled by the drawbacks inherent in the available methods of doing himself in--primarily the pain! It is on a rooftop from which he is supposed to make a plunge that he saves a poor man from suicide by giving the latter all the money he has. In gratitude, the newly rich man promises to hire a killer to finish off his suffering benefactor...

战争让整个世界都变得满目疮痍，无家可归的流浪汉（石天 饰）行走在路上，遇见了可怜的孤儿（汪伟 饰）正在行窃。原来，孤儿受制于冷酷无情的恶霸（麦嘉 饰），如果不听他的话，他就会将他打的遍体鳞伤。流浪汉同情孤儿的遭遇，于是收留了他。之后，流浪汉邂逅了贫穷的歌女（王秀文 饰），同行的就这样变成了三人，流浪汉和歌女之间，甚至还生出了一丝丝罗曼蒂克的可能。
恶霸得知流浪汉带走了自己的赚钱工具，非常的愤怒。他不仅掳走了孤儿，还带走了歌女。为了拯救两人，流浪汉和恶霸的宿敌醉汉（午马 饰）一起深入虎穴，想要将坏人绳之於法。

牧师马克白（冯淬帆 饰）一生虔诚，却独独有着酗酒的毛病无法改掉，因此被教会除名，郁郁而终。魔鬼使者阿标降临人间收割年轻人的灵魂，阿杰（许冠英 饰）内心里怀揣着远大的理想，却因为现实的残酷和坚硬而处处碰壁走投无路，暗恋许久的女孩佩吉（徐杰 饰）亦同他渐行渐远。

林亚珍（萧芳芳 饰）是一位个性正直开朗的女子，最近，她正在找工作，然而，大大咧咧不拘小节的性格不仅令林亚珍四处碰壁，还惹出了不少的麻烦和笑话，这让自信满满的林亚珍感到十分失落。
一次偶然中，林亚珍和儿时的玩伴曾非凡（许冠英 饰）重逢了，随后，曾非凡便向林亚珍展开了热烈的追求。然而，林亚珍的不解风情让曾非凡感到十分受挫，两人之间的感情能否顺利的进行下去呢？一个邪恶的财团打起了倒卖香港地皮的主意，林亚珍偶然之中得知了他们的阴谋，正义感满满的她发誓绝不能袖手旁观，屡屡破坏财团的诡计，却也因此而引来了杀身之祸。

古仁、渖彬这对艺坛老搭档，曾为无数的观众带来欢笑。退休后二人闹矛盾，竟然互不往来。电视台将举办慈善义演，有意邀请二人出席但二人愤然拒绝。后经多方面努力，特别是二位残障儿童的出现，令他们改变了主意。晚会上二位全力以赴的演出，观众给予热烈的掌声。遗憾的是渖彬因心脏病发，在舞台上结束了他的生命，给古仁和观众留下了无尽回忆……

The Thai government hires a group of Chinese mercenaries to capture a powerful drug lord from the Golden Triangle. The mercenaries manage to capture the drug lord, but soon find themselves pursued by his forces, and the forces of a bitter Thai officer. The Chinese mercenaries are vastly outnumbered, and as their numbers begin to dwindle, their desperation pulls them into a corner as their enemies close in on them.

尽管16岁时吴宇森便辍学参加工作，但自幼培养的对电影的热情，却通过在图书馆、书店钻研大量电影理论书籍变得更加投入。这期间，他已经在和一群志同道合的青年拍摄实验电影了。1971年他加入邵氏公司，担任大师张彻的副导，参与制作了《刺马》、《水浒传》等一系列卖座名片，学到了许多专业技巧，而张彻阳刚惨烈的风格更对其产生了深远影响。

1976年，吴宇森决定改变风格，导演了一部粤语古装歌舞片《帝女花》。虽有1959年的经典版本在前，但该片仍取得了巨大成功，票房收入名列当年第四位，大胜张彻、李翰祥、楚原等前辈力作。若讲扬眉吐气，这是吴宇森的第一回，其次才轮到10年后的《英雄本色》。
