Not long after twin brothers Ryuichi and Ryuji were born, they were abandoned by their own parents. They were then adopted by the Yoshie couple, who ran a small shipping company. Sometime later, the Yoshies gave birth to their daughter Misa. Ryuichi and Ryuji enjoyed pleasant days with their adopted parents and younger sister Misa. When Ryuichi and Ryuji were 15-years-old, their parents experienced extremely dark days because of Genpei Kirishima, who ran a competing shipping company.

The short begins with Diancie sitting quietly inside a small house. She begins to hear a cry, and looks out from the deck to listen more closely to the sound. She then realizes that it is a Pokémon that needs help, and she jumps off the deck and goes to find the Pokemon in question. Meanwhile, a trio of Carbink are on their way with food. One of them, named Merrick, tells the other two, Bort and Allotrope, to hurry as Diancie must certainly be hungry. When they enter Diancie's room the trio realize that Diancie is gone. Merrick then notices Diancie and tells Bort and Allotrope to go after her. Merrick then jumps off the deck and attempts to sustain his balance, though Bort and Allotrope fall on top of him. In the midst of following Diancie, they soon find themselves surrounded by a group of Ariados.
Meanwhile, Diancie reaches a river and uses her instincts to locate the cry, where she then finds a Pangoro stuck in a log. She tries to pull it out but to no avail. Merrick, Bort, and Allotrope reach Diancie, and much to their dismay, as they are being attacked, Diancie instructs them to make a hole in the log for Pangoro to see. When Pangoro's face is revealed, Diancie then happily greets Pangoro, but Merrick, Bort, and Allotrope are further dismayed. When the Ariados attack, the three vow to defend themselves, but Pangoro then swings itself (inside the log) at the Ariados, scaring them away. It then crashes onto the ledge, breaking the log and freeing Pangoro. Diancie and the Carbink then thank Pangoro. A Pancham appears out of the broken log, dizzy and fainting. Diancie then realizes Pangoro must have been trying to save Pancham, and got stuck in the process, which the two confirm. They part ways with Pancham and Pangoro to continue on their quest to find Xerneas. Meanwhile, a Honedge appears and helps a mysterious girl spy on Diancie and the Carbink.

A young girl named Ruka, who had been living a wandering life in Osaka, is taken in by Fumi, an elementary school teacher. Later, Ruka spends time in Obihiro, Hokkaido, with Natsuhiko, who was her sister's lover, and forms a friendship with a high school girl named Maori. However, the fate that awaits her is always harsh. After arriving in Tokyo, Ruka becomes a musician and begins singing on the streets under the name Kyrie. There, she reunites with Maori, who now goes by the name Ikko and survives in Tokyo through her ever-changing cosplay and relationships with men. From Ishinomaki, Osaka, and Obihiro to Tokyo—Ruka, while being tossed about by fate, weaves a grand lyrical poem through her determined life.

Four women of different ages work at or frequent an ice cream shop, each dealing with dreams, timidity, inexperience with love, and personal pain, their lives intersecting at the shop.

生田斗真 舞台第10年主角之作
　　因为舞台「あずみ」而被观众们熟悉的演员生田斗真（21），将要在人气剧团「剧団☆新感线」的最新作品「Cat　in　the　Red　Boots」中出演主角。自97年7月初次演出舞台剧「スタンド?バイ?ミー」（Stand By Me）以来，在第十年（生田君）终于拔得了主角的头筹。
　　生田君初次参与新感线的舞台剧是在02年，Tokio的松冈昌宏（29）主演的「スサノオ」（须佐之男）。“因为演出了‘须佐之男’，才让我决定了在这个世界继续走下去的事”，生田君给出如此说明。对于初次主演是饰演作为自身转折点的剧团（的剧目），（生田君说着）“梦想实现了。想要结果去回报哩。”（这么说时）眼里闪着光。
　　（这次的角色）是憧憬着童话的世界有些自闭的青年。很有新感线风格的武戏，要发挥出天生的身体能力，“会做‘ヒッキー Action（注一）’哦”这样充满信心地说。
