Fireman, known as Magma Man in some markets, is a Japanese tokusatsu television series about a superhero, the title character, who fights kaiju and other villains. Produced by Tsuburaya Productions, the show was broadcast on Nippon Television from January 7 to July 31, 1973, with a total of 30 episodes. This was also one of several shows Tsuburaya did to celebrate the company's 10th Anniversary.

The Americans are swiftly closing on Okinawa, an island just south of the Japanese mainland. The Imperial command sends top generals and several army divisions to defend it at all costs. The mission quickly degenerates as vital resources and troops are diverted to other islands. After a civilian evacuation ends in tragedy most of non-combatants are forced to remain on the island. Many convert to soldier status. Tokyo sends mixed messages that squander time and resources, as when they order the defenders to build an airstrip for aircraft that never come. The truth soon becomes obvious: the high command decides that the island cannot be held and effectively abandons the Okinawan defenders. When the Americans land many troops are deployed in the wrong places. As the slaughter mounts, a suicidal attitude takes hold. Okinawa becomes a death trap, for civilian volunteers and non-combatants as well.

Gaira, a humanoid sea beast spawned from the discarded cells of Frankenstein's monster, attacks the shores of Tokyo. While the Japanese military prepares to take action, Gaira's Gargantua brother, Sanda, descends from the mountains to defend his kin. A battle between good and evil ensues, leaving brothers divided and a city in ruins.

小松左京の同名SF小説を原作に、超能力を持つ諜報員・エスパイたちの活躍を描く。当時の技術で、果敢に超能力を表現しようとする試みが光る。田村、マリア、三木の3人は、国連の秘密組織’“エスパイ”で働いていた。エスパイとは、超能力を悪用する逆エスパイと戦うための超能力者を養成する機関である。やがて、東西冷戦の要・バルトニアの首相暗殺計画をめぐって3人の活躍が始まる……。

何ものかに反撥して夜の公道を突っ走る若者たち、凄まじいスピードの中で絡み合う愛に飢えた2台の車、轟音を奏でるエグゾーストノートとぶつかり合う華麗なるシネジャズ、そしていのちを燃やして疾走する男と女・・・。五木寛之の原作をもとに、鬼才西村潔監督がメガホンを取った、東宝ニューアクションよりの蔵出し作品。まさに奇跡としかいいようのない傑作アクション。『バニシング・ポイント』『断絶』等のアメリカン・ニューシネマと同時代に登場した、これこそ極東ニューシネマとも言える鮮烈な一作である。画面に映し出されるその映像は衝撃だ。CGなど無かった時代、首都高、横浜を名車TOYOTA2000GTが猛スピードで駆け抜ける映像はすべてホンモノ。撮影のための交通規制などいっさい無い、現代では決して撮りえないとんでもない映像だ。「車に関してウソは描かない・・・」この信念のもと製作された本作は、主役の見崎清志のほか舘信秀、佐藤文康など当時の現役レーサーを起用、さらにテクニカルディレクターとして、60年代のチームトヨタで活躍した元ワークスドライバー大坪善男氏が参加。実際のマカオ・グランプリで撮影されたレースシーン、驚異の公道でのカーアクションなど、『ブリット』『ダーティメリー、クレイジーラリー』などのハリウッド製カーアクションの傑作群に決して引けをとらない、間違いなく国産カーアクションの最高傑作と断言できる迫力とリアリティを備えている。そして本作をよりいっそう引き立てるのが日本ジャズ界屈指のビッグネーム、菊地雅章によるオリジナルサウンドトラック。映像に付随する音としてではなく、映像と対等な立場に立つものとして作られた音は、その強烈すぎる画と衝突することによって他にはみられない異次元の肌ざわりを生み出している。

讲一个参加倒幕运动的农民，带着没有压迫、人人平等的梦想，尝试回乡建立新秩序的故事。
「赤毛」というのは、幕末、江戸に進軍する官軍の「赤報隊」（これ、時効になった朝日新聞襲撃の際、犯行声明出した謎の団体の名前と同じ？）の隊長がかぶる「鏡獅子」みたいな被り物が赤かったところからくる通称。百姓くずれの官軍の一兵卒・権三は「先方隊」に立候補し、隊長の「赤毛」を借りて、生まれ故郷の村に乗り込む。そこは、代官とやくざの一家に牛耳られ…となると、まるでクロサワの『用心棒』。村のセットも『用心棒』の宿場町に似てる。百姓達は年貢取立てに苦しみ、権三の恋人とみ（岩下志麻）ら、女たちは女郎屋に売られ、蘭学者に扇動された青年達は決起寸前、革命の機運高まる、というのが1969年的なんでしょうか。
