The successful writer Paul and the sought-after voice actress Emilia were always considered to be the absolute dream couple by friends: Harmonious, happy, successful, with three charming children named Bo, Marie and Fe. But now, in their late 40s, their relationship is threatened by a crisis.

This film is a series of seven funny and moving vignettes, from seven different directors, all linked by one bus journey. Pattex and Horst are waiting forever for a bus after a long night at a rock concert and their stories link the other vignettes together. Rita dreams of weddings and a honeymoon in Verona, Italy. On her way to marry a man she met through a dating agency, she meets Ewald. There's also Franziska, who is picked up bus driver Charlie, and eventually comes to remember that she just crashed her boyfriend's car, with him in it.
