作为Will Vinton工作室的主力的粘土动画技术在此片中发挥得淋漓尽致。其中又以人物的脸部表情细节，物体变形动画和场景特效细节最为惊艳。从老人头到面具脸到千面风琴，无中生有的植物生长动画，可以看到白头水花，涟漪的水流和瀑布。配合声效和对白，不逊色于如今的CG效果。
