Who is the real you? The "Tasokare Hotel" exists in a state of twilight limbo, allowing souls caught between the afterlife and the world of the living to rest. Neko Tsukahara arrives with no memory of who she is or how she came to be there, and is shown to a room filled with items relating to her past. As she searches for a way to remember who she was, a certain incident confronts her.

After realizing the value of life and the importance of his own allies, Makoto finally got his smile back. As spring turns into summer, he finds himself learning more about those comrades and getting closer to them. He even meets new friends, including Aegis, an anti-Shadow android, Ken, a grade-schooler who seeks to get revenge for his late mother, and Koromaru, a dog who can use a Persona. Makoto wishes that everything will continue just as they are. However, little by little, the pieces and people in Makoto's new, happy life begin to fall apart, and he is forced to suffer the loss that comes with it.

E-Rantel, the capital city of the newly established Sorcerer Kingdom, suffers from a dire shortage of goods. Meanwhile, the cardinals of the Slane Theocracy discuss how to retaliate against Ainz after his attack crippled the Re-Estize Kingdom's army, plotting for the Baharuth Empire to take over the Sorcerer Kingdom. Shogo Mikadono is the son of an industrial magnate named Kumagoro Mikadono who passed away. As a final wish, Kumagoro imposed a condition Shogo must meet before he can inherit the family legacy—find a female mate at school. Shogo transfers into a school to fulfill that condition. However, he learns that he has a younger sister from whom he was separated at birth. He does not know what his long-lost sister looks like, but she happens to be one of the students at his new school.

本OVA总集约50分钟，国内网民将其拆分为两话，各约25分钟。
故事讲述了由于雏见泽症候群病原体的发现，自卫队的隔离，被封锁的雏见泽村。实际上是雏见泽症候群（外界称士兵脑寄生病毒）从雏见泽扩散到全世界的开端！据传将是《寒蝉鸣泣之时》迎来动画版真正大结局的前兆。根据官网最新消息，在[拡]之后还有[顶]、[问]、[选]，但这三项究竟代表着什么，是否为[拡]后续动漫？若是后续动漫，那么是以TV版或是OVA版还是剧场版？一切还有待考据。
