NHK时代剧，根据津本阳的小说《柳生十兵卫七番胜负》改编，全六回。时值三代将军家光之世，家光之弟骏河大纳言忠长因为卷入将军宝座之争，被逼切腹。对骏河大纳言忠心耿耿的指南役户田勘解由勾结幕府中人，意图策划一场颠覆天下的大阴谋。修行中的柳生十兵卫被父亲柳生但马守紧急召回，化解阴谋安定天下的决胜之 战就此展开。

20世纪初，维康商店的少爷柳吉（森山未来 饰）趁父亲（岸部一德 饰）患病之际纵情声色，与梅乃屋的著名艺伎金春（尾野真千子 饰）相恋交往。金春自幼志愿成为大阪第一艺伎，但为了这个虽有家室却不甚成器的男子，她的内心开始动摇。直到二人相识的一年后，被断绝父子关系的柳吉与金春相约私奔，经历了关东大地震后他们重返大阪，在金春的娘家落脚。为了生计，换回本名“蝶子”的金春抛头露面，辛苦谋生，而做惯了少爷的柳吉在穷苦境遇下依然不改浪荡挥霍本性。前世的冤家，今生在同一屋檐下相会，且哭且笑共步他们的坎坷人生……

Physically separated from her father and at odds with her distraught mother, a girl must negotiate her own passage to maturity.

A hapless country doctor describes with breathless urgency a night-time summons to attend a young patient. Events soon take on a surreal aspect as "unearthly horses" transport him instantaneously to the bedside. The doctor, preoccupied with personal distractions and grievances against those he is employed to care for, fails to find what is revealed to be a vile, fatal wound. He is humiliated by the villagers, who are "always expecting the impossible from the doctor," and doomed to an endless return trip, losing everything.
