Basements is the title for the omnibus film that brings together two plays by Harold Pinter – The Dumb Waiter and The Room – each, once again, set in a single location.

John Travolta is a downtrodden single father raising his daughter under difficult circumstances in Chicago. The young girl comes upon and then nurses a wounded Doberman used for fighting, back to health. Duped by underworld types he was working as a courier for, father and daughter leave the dog and flee cross-country to Los Angeles with both canine and mobsters in pursuit.

The story takes place in alternative America where the blacks are members of social elite, and whites are inhabitants of inner city ghettos. Louis Pinnock is a white worker in a chocolate factory, loving husband and father of two children. While delivering a package for black CEO Thaddeus Thomas, he is mistaken for a voyeur and, as a result, loses his job, gets beaten by black cops and his family gets evicted from their home. Desperate Pinnock takes a gun and kidnaps Thomas, demanding justice.

It starts out by interviewing Quentin Tarantino, along with Producer Lawrence Bender. They tell the story about how Tarantino started out. It even shows footage from Tarantino's first film "Reservoir Dogs." Most of the stars are interviewed, and it even covers topics in the film, such as how Tarantino made three stories come together as one, how the film was conceived by audiences, and even a quick segment about Tarantino's view on violence.
To top it all off, there is some behind the scenes footage, mainly of the part where Butch hits Marcellus with his car. At the end of the documentary, there is footage of the Cannes Film festival, and there is also information about the awards that Pulp Fiction won and was nominated for.
