流れ者のタンクローリー運転手が立ち寄ったラーメン屋は、とある未亡人が切り盛りしていた。が、未亡人はズブの素人で借金だらけ、そんな小さなラーメン屋を町一番の人気店に押し上げようと奮闘する"ラーメン・ウエスタン"映画「タンポポ」。監督は、日本を代表する娯楽映画の巨匠・伊丹十三。出演は山崎努、宮本信子といった伊丹作品の常連が並ぶ、伊丹監督の大ヒット作である。
本作「伊丹十三の「タンポポ」撮影日記」は、その大ヒット映画製作の秘密、名シーンである卵の黄身の口移しの舞台裏などが、伊丹十三監督自身のナレーションで明かされる貴重なメイキングである。
