英国电影学院奖是英国电影和电视艺术学院颁发的电影类的奖项，原本致力于表彰出色的英国电影以及英国籍演员出演的外国影片，后改为面向世界各国的影片进行评奖。奖项设置与奥斯卡相似，被视为“英国的奥斯卡奖”。

2019年1月9日，第72届英国电影学院奖公布提名，欧格斯·兰斯莫斯执导的《宠儿》拿下了包括最佳影片，最佳原创剧本，最佳女主角等12项提名，成为本届英国电影学院奖名副其实的“宠儿”。
