The film is inspired by the record-breaking solo trip around the globe in a hot-air balloon made by the world-famous Russian explorer Fedor Konyukhov in July of 2016. Throughout his remarkable life, Konyukhov has proven time and time again that willpower, perseverance and faith can help overcome fear and doubt, and lead a person to triumph.

Иван Вырыпаев о пьесе «Солнечная линия»: «Я хотел показать механизм, почему люди не могут найти контакт, что им мешает. В пьесе показано 5-6 таких механизмов: от банальных – когда мы не слышим друг друга и перебиваем, до максимальных – когда мы воспринимаем реальность по-разному: когда один говорит: «Я сейчас извинялся перед тобой» – «Что ты сейчас делал? Это ты сейчас делал?!». И цель этой пьесы — терапевтическая. Ты можешь проработать для какой-то пары, которая пришла на спектакль, эти механизмы».

Спектакль был номинирован на премию «Золотая маска-2019» в категориях «Драма / спектакль малой формы», «Работа режиссёра», «Работа драматурга», «Женская роль» и «Мужская роль».
