Connue des spectateurs français pour son rôle dans la série policière Commissaire Léa Sommer, la comédienne allemande Hannelore Elsner, décédée en avril 2019 à l’âge de 76 ans, fut une figure incontournable du cinéma d’outre-Rhin, très appréciée du public pour sa chaleur, son humour et sa liberté. Sabine Lidl lui consacre un émouvant portrait, passant en revue un demi-siècle de carrière. Elle convoque les témoignages de celles et ceux qui ont côtoyé la comédienne et travaillé avec elle : l’acteur germano-suisse Mario Adorf (auquel ARTE a également consacré un portrait) et les réalisateurs Doris Dörrie (Cherry Blossoms et merveilleux démons), Edgar Reitz ou encore Oskar Roehler, qui lui offrit en 2000 l’un de ses plus beaux rôles dans L’insaisissable, le bouleversant portrait d’une écrivaine déchue, très remarqué dans les festivals internationaux.

2016年的德国，柏林墙已在25年被拆掉了，曾经威名赫赫的前东德间谍约亨·福克被昔日的敌人——德国联邦情报局找回来执行一项新任务：拯救被绑架的卡切吉斯坦临时总统。因为人们把国家未来的和平都寄托在这位总统身上，与总统一起被绑架的还有德国的情报特工弗兰克·肯恩。联邦情报局需要福克以前的关系网把临时总统救回来。而福克接受任务的条件是要把他以前的团队成员找回来，然而他接受这项任务也有自己的私心：他和肯恩曾经是死对头，福克打算借此机会找肯恩报仇。
