本作は、芦田演じる片思いするヒロイン・菅原優衣と、岡山扮する片思いの相手・ケンケンこと菅原健二を軸とした物語。岩手・盛岡の商店街で母と暮らす優衣と、実家が豆腐店を営むケンケンは隣同士の家に住み、お互いの部屋から顔を出せば話ができるほどの距離で育ってきた。優衣にとって“憧れのお兄さん”であるケンケンは、一緒にいると幸せな気持ちになれる存在だ。ある日、東京でデザインの仕事をしていたケンケンが突然帰郷。しかも東京には戻らず、実家の豆腐店を継ぐと宣言する。地元の会社を辞め豆腐店で働いていた優衣は「これって、長男の嫁みたい」と心の中で舞い上がるが、本当の気持ちは伝えられないまま、もどかしい時間が続いていく。
