70’s~80’sを全速力で駆け抜けていった故松田優作のアルバム8枚が再発されるが、その中から初CD化となる初期の5枚を紹介。1stの『Uターン』と2nd『TOUCH』では萩原健一のフォロワーといった趣が強いが、いくつかの曲で聴けるコミカルな味わいに彼の個性を感じられる。3rdの『HARDESTDAY』はクリエーンョンとタッグを組んだ作品で、ブルージーなロックを基調とした全体の音作りは前2作と変わらないものの、翳りを帯びた歌には松田優作という無二の個性を持った男の姿が反映され、独自の世界を形作っている。3rdアルバムで得た歌手としての自信の下に臨んだライヴを収めたのが『HAREST NIGHT LIVE』で、前作に続きクリエーションがバックアップ。永久に再現不可能なステージだけに、貴重な1枚といえる。5th『インテリア』はブルース色を一掃した、ポップも西落た音をバックにした作品。以上、全5作。歌手としても存分に個性を発揮した松田優作の足跡をたどるのに、絶好のアイテムといえる。 (飯塚達弘) --- 1997年03月号
