On of the southernmost islands of Japan, there's a dance school 'Orion Dancers Academy'. Hiding its public identity as a training school of singers and dancers, it actually operates as a girl-warrior training school, in order to win independence of the island. The secretly trained agents watch the music video of charismatic idol Cocoe on a huge TV monitor, and unlock codes from her dancing to complete their missions. However, the dark shadow of a rival organization slowly sneaks up on the girls and the training school on the island.

A man with a troubled past including incest with a younger sister and the murder of a woman travels to an isolated countryside town in Nagano. There a local who mistakes him for a famous television actor shows him the town's sites, including a strip bar in which the performers remove Heian era costumes. The film's narrative is in an allegorical and disjointed manner with references to Buddhist concepts.

ある日、すれ違いざまに見知らぬコカコーラの少女から何枚もの一万円札の入ったコーラの空き缶を手渡されるクー。そしていつものように部屋でゴロゴロしているところにまた見知らぬ少女がやって来る。その少女7月は強引にクーの部屋に転がり込み、奇妙な同居生活が始まる。そんなクーのところへどこかから電話連絡が入る。クーは都会の片隅から急いで飛び立ち、ガラスの拳銃を構えて草むらを突っ走る。それはまるで戦争の訓練をしているかのようだった。一方7月はふとしたことからコカコーラの少女と会うことになるが、どうも二人はしっくりいかない。やがて7月はコカコーラの少女に追いかけられることになる。訓練らしいことから戻って来たクーは、軍港でヴァイオリンを弾く少女・シオに出会う。不思議な力を持つシオに連れられて、彼女の父であるひゃっこいの男に会うクー。シオは父をガラスの拳銃で殺そうとし、クーはそこでメタメタにやられてしまう。そしてシオに別れを告げられ、7月もクーの部屋を出て、自分捜しの旅にいくことを決意する。持っていたカバンを近くのゴミ捨て場に捨て、そこに落ちていたハサミで髪を切る7月。彼女の中で何かが大きく変わろうとしているのだ。そのころクーもコカコーラの少女を捜してガラスの拳銃を渡し、部屋を出ていく支度をする。そんなとき不意にガラスの少女が現れ、東京を走る。やがて、7月はクーに妹だと告白する。そして去ろうとする7月にクーは何か迷いを残しながらも「きらい、じやないよ」と告げるのだった。

出生之前与死亡之后，那一段时间较长？问题问过后，遂进入肉体生死的迷思去。首先死亡驾到，男主角健二中沙林毒气身亡；两年后，他的女友春子也在卖肉生涯中遇上嫖客「死神」（这是影片首两场），还有闷闷不乐的情妇，与三人淫之后的少女，死神以不同面相找她们，真正次序实是性、死、爱。影片是所谓的pink eiga格式（三级半剧情片），若果说《涩谷二十四小时》和《池袋色情男女》是局外人探首日本色情文化，濑敬久的做法，则企图赤裸地呈现性爱的真象和心像，去点醒看官：其实我们都是「局中人」。直到死的一刻，才由你去决定怎去活：电影把这两句说话置放在性高潮之中。

Having lived in Tokyo for almost two years,i can confirm my suspicions that Sato is one of the most Japanese directors working today.His films could not be made anywhere else by anyone else.His unwavering,logical dissection of a central theme (usually something to do with psychosis and obsession) spiralling towards a nihilistic, doomed (and romantic) ending is in keeping with a dark strain that's been in Japanese culture since it's inception.Xenophobic film watchers who think this is a scary mirror of modern Japanese society should however,not take it so seriously.THE BEDROOM is a very hard film to write about.It has no asides.All the usual cinematic bull**** has been lyposucked away leaving a economic, tight and intense story that goes from A to B swiftly and leaves the imprint of a film behind without actually developing fully.But it doesn't need to.It's like a song that never repeats that riff you like so much enough to fully satisfy you,so you listen again.And (if his whole back catalogue was available in English) i would immediately put on another Sato movie after this.They are as obsessive and addictive as his characters.Unredeeming,anti-social and seriously well-made.One day,some film-maker will push forward Sato as an influence and maybe people will take notice.But until then,his small fan base will watch them in darkened rooms in dark cities trying to replicate a fever dream.

本作は、監督の瀬々敬久が自ら書き下ろしたオリジナルシナリオによるもので、脚本に記された本作の原題『わたくしの汽車は北へ走つてゐるはずなのに ここではみなみへかけてゐる』は、宮澤賢治の『春と修羅』初版本に収録された『青森挽歌』のなかの一文の引用である[4]。国映が製作し、新東宝映画が配給、同年11月28日に公開された[2]。同年10月10日に公開された瀬々の前作で、『わたくしといふ現象は仮定された有機交流電燈のひとつの青い照明です』という同じく宮澤賢治の『春と修羅』冒頭の一文[5]を原題とし、同じく岸加奈子が主演した『禁男の園 ザ・制服レズ』の7週後の公開である[6]。前作同様、瀬々が宮澤賢治にインスパイアされた時代[7]の作品である。
