經過台北電影資料館多年努力蒐集及整理，加上張艾嘉在接受該館的訪問中提及，這部存放於拷貝盒內多年的短片終能重見天日，並在2012年7月該館於台北舉行的《胡說．八道—胡金銓武藝新傳》展覽上首度曝光。張艾嘉回憶，胡金銓與她參加維也納電影節，順道拍攝了一些毛片。故事藍本來自女記者黃珊，她在維也納重遇文革時曾批鬥過的老師，女記者既畏且愧，不斷逃避，老師追趕得心臟病發—原來他並非算舊賬，不僅原諒了她，也道出時代扭曲了的人性。張艾嘉憶述當時在維也納，「空氣太好了，人的皮膚是透的」，20分鐘只是零碎的毛片，兩人各自各在維也納街頭閒逛，鏡頭稍有重複，卻是她與恩師最後對手戲；胡自導自演，更為珍貴。

民初, 山賊橫行於中國東北一帶. 游俠蕭凱偶然結識江湖客朱靜虛, 兩人惺惺相惜, 結伴來到老龍溝的中元村. 凱偕虛投宿客棧, 邂逅店東女兒穆翠英. 英對凱暗生傾慕, 但因凱身份不明, 令英存有戒心. 村內店商丁四寶勾結賊首洪老大, 讓山賊在村中大肆搜括, 令村民苦不堪言 . 凱、虛義抱不平, 挺身助村民擊退山賊. 豈料, 和村民友好的新疆馬商到訪, 誤會凱為偷馬賊, 凱、虛無奈離開中元村. 洪見時機成熟, 率眾再襲村民, 幸好在千鈞一髮之際, 凱、虛折返, 殲滅山賊.
影評摘錄:《山賊》太受日本電影的直接熏陶, 以致東北胡子的強悍和雪野茫茫的山色, 雖則多少表現了, 卻仍缺乏中國的民族風格. 如果沒有編劇胡金銓廣泛運用東北人民的土話對白, 從而加強地域性的渲染, 更可能令人懷疑, 那是一個日本武俠片與美國牛仔片在中國移花接木後的產品. 潘壘的最大本錢, 是鏡頭的靈活使用, 至於馬群奔馳的氣勢......一面放膽運用跟鏡拍攝的熟練技巧, 獵取踭躅的馬蹄, 拂塵疾走, 另一面又兼用中鏡遠鏡, 適當地把握了鬧哄哄的躍馬執韁雄姿. (何森:《山賊》, 中國學生周報, 1966年2月11日, 第708期)

片中動用了一百五十匹駿馬, 耗費達十萬港元, 並聘請日本日活公司的爆破專家, 參與製作片中的戰爭場面.

抗日英雄丁一山（凌云），在长沙外围的沦陷区内神出鬼没，给予日军沉重打击，日军除派大批兵力搜捕外，尚悬赏通缉。讵知，丁却偏在这时潜入日军控制的某镇，拟从司令中岛（韦弘）手中取得兵力分布图；丁以古玩铺掌柜的身份出现，跟一众爱国志士协议计划。另，特务王玲（井莉）已打入伪军司令部，从事谍报活动，与丁内外夹攻……

本片为导演胡金铨拍摄的唯一一部时装电影，反映出台湾当时的社会百态，并讽刺台湾一些饮料和补品夸大不实的广告。故事讲述日本松本制药规定只对已婚男士委以重任，为了争取该公司即将在台湾发售的营养剂“青春素"的广告代理，台湾某广告公司于是展开了对未婚的设计师陶立民的婚姻“速递"，包括董事长介绍的莲达是夜总会的未婚妈妈、总裁介绍的画家胡慧中是自己的情人、婚介所里结识的张艾嘉是骗子……而从德国学营养学回来的纪亚南在电视节目中指称营养剂含有危险的化学物质，后与陶结婚后，她则在电视里称“青春素"百益无一害……

胡金銓導演曾於康城影展獲獎，1978年被英國《國際電影指南》選為世界五大導演。此部抗日戰爭片，為胡氏1964年自編自導自演的首部作品，於1966年金馬獎獲最佳編劇、最佳剪輯（姜興隆）及最佳發揚民族精神特別獎，被評為「寫中華兒女的愛國熱誠，演導活潑，內容很有深度」。故事描寫二次世界大戰期間，國人奮起抗日的事蹟；除胡氏粉墨登場外，主要演員還包括樂蒂、陳厚、夏儀秋及陳燕燕。

Directed by some of most well known Chinese-language directors of the time, the portmanteau film Four Moods was an attempt to alleviate Li Han-hsiang’s financial troubles during the late 1960s. Arguably one of his best works, King Hu’s short Anger is an adaptation of the famous Peking opera San Cha Kou; set to opera instrumentation and stylishly shot, the film deftly captures the tense showdown between political schemers, avengers and vagabonds inside an inn. Li Han-hsiang’s Happiness, inspired by the Strange Tales of Liaozhai, tells a tale of reprieve for a kind-hearted ghost, while Pai Ching-Jui’s Joy and Lee Hsing’s Sadness both explore the fateful encounters between mortal men and ghostly women.

When an amorously inclined young man runs across an attractive young woman in need of his help, it's not difficult for him to rush to her aid while imagining himself in her arms. Though he's married, he retains a strong desire to bed any pretty woman in sight. To his shock, he discovers later that the pretty woman he fantasized about is a ghost.

大導演胡金銓早年傑作，改編自《警世通言》之〈玉堂春落難逢夫〉。故事講述吏部尚書幼子王金龍（趙雷）與名妓蘇三（樂蒂）真情相愛，無奈床頭金盡，被趕出富春院。其後蘇三被老鴇（紅薇）暗賣予富戶沈燕林（楊志卿）為妾，卻被沈妻皮氏（高寶樹）誣告毒殺親夫，判以死罪。此時金龍已考取功名，官封八府巡按，為救蘇三，決意開堂覆審……本片由「古典美人」樂蒂飾女主角蘇三，配合胡金銓一絲不苟的製作，乃黃梅調片不朽的經典。

China, year 1457. The Minister of Defense is executed, and his children are sentenced to exile by order of the tyrannical Tsao. Golden Swallow is a fighter-for-hire who has been contracted by the local government to retrieve the governor's kidnapped son. Holding him is a group of rebels who are demanding that their leader be released from prison in return for the captured son. After a brief encounter with the gang at a local restaurant, Golden Swallow is joined by an inebriated wanderer Drunken Cat who aids her in her mission.
