In the 1950s, an apprentice pork butcher in Bourg-la-Reine leaves his job to go to Indochina. In this way, the young Alain Delon seeks to bring closure to a singular childhood, caught between feelings of abandonment and confinement. His parents divorced, he no longer saw his father and lived for a long time in Fresnes prison, where his nanny's husband was a guard. But his indiscipline led to his expulsion from the French Navy.
