Looking at the stats, you’d think Megan Thee Stallion was on top of the world: “HISS,” the second single from her third studio album, was her first solo chart-topper. But as the silver-tongued Houston native has risen from cult-favorite Instagram freestyler to full-fledged cultural force after breaking through with 2019’s “Hot Girl Summer,” the rapper’s been weighed down by grief and betrayal, all highly public and intensely scrutinized. On 2022’s Traumazine, Megan began to let down her guard and open up about her pain. She teased its follow-up in late 2023 with a statement: “Just as a snake sheds its skin, we must shed our past, over and over again.” On MEGAN, she’s still going through it, but she’s not going down without a fight.

The motif of the snake, coiled and waiting to strike, winds its way through MEGAN’s 18 tracks with cool, collected menace. “Still going hard with the odds against me,” she spits on “HISS” over an eerie beat from go-to producer LilJuMadeDaBeat. She’s got devastating burns for everybody within earshot on “Rattle,” snapping at an unnamed peer, “Your life must be boring as fuck if you still reminiscing ’bout shit that we did.” (Her claim to be “a motherfuckin’ brat, not a Barbie” on “Figueroa” might clarify its intended target.) There are moments of levity: “Otaku Hot Girl” flexes her arcane anime knowledge, while “Accent” recruits Hot Girl Summer tourmate GloRilla for a country-girl ode to being “thicker than a Popeye’s biscuit.”

But you get the sense that for Megan, it’s awfully lonely at the top: On “Moody Girl,” she switches her trademark tagline to “real motherfuckin’ sad girl shit.” And over the metalcore guitar chug driving “COBRA,” she tells you how it feels to break down while the world is watching.

release date 2021-09-27 publisher: Sony Music Entertainment US Latin LLC/Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures Inc.
Megan Thee Stallion and Snoop Dogg can agree to have a couple of alter egos but the Hip Hop stars are now about to dabble in horror courtesy of The Addams Family.
The Hot Girl Coach and the D-O-Double-G are set to lend verses to The Addams Family 2 soundtrack to coincide with the release of the popular movie on October 1. While Meg will be featured on a collaboration titled “Crazy Family” with Colombian singer Maluma and production team Rock Mafia, Snoop will be pulling double duty. Not only is he part of the soundtrack, he portrays Cousin It in the film.
Meg teased her involvement on the soundtrack Friday (September 24), posting a video of Wednesday Addams wearing a pair of pink headphones rocking out.
“You know what real hot girls have? A real crazy family,” Meg captioned the post. “Collabed with @maluma and @rockmafiaforever on the track “Crazy Family” for The #AddamsFamily! The original motion picture soundtrack drops when The Addams Family 2 is available in theaters and on demand October 1.”
The sequel of the film comes after the release of the 2019 animated hit which grossed $203.7 million at the box office and features voice acting by Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloë Grace Moretz, Nick Kroll, Javon Walton, Snoop, Bette Midler, and Bill Hader.
Hanging with Wednesday Addams is the latest crossover move for the platinum-selling Houston rapper. On Thursday (September 23), Nike revealed the Houston Hottie would be a part of their latest “Play New” campaign. Megan will bring fans into her personal fitness journey while encouraging fans “to define sports in their own personal way.”

release date 2021-06-11 publisher: 300 Entertainment
As promised, Megan Thee Stallion has released her new song “Thot Shit.” She’s also released an accompanying music video, starring Meg as her alter ego Tina Snow. It opens with an older white man leaving a troll-ish comment under one of Megan’s videos, and for the rest of the clip, Megan and the Hotties haunt the man’s every move.
According to a press release, the new single “celebrates women unapologetically enjoying themselves, doing whatever they want, whenever they want, regardless of what the critics have to say.”
Megan Thee Stallion dropped her studio debut Good News last fall. Following that release, she’s collaborated with Ariana Grande and Doja Cat (“34+35”), Bobby Sessions (“I’m a King”), Maroon 5 (“Beautiful Mistakes”), and Lil Baby (“On Me”). And, since announcing “Thot Shit,” Megan Thee Stallion’s been credited by DJ and producer Marshmello on the track “Bad Bitches.”
