Through the serious subject of "forensic medicine," it carefully captures the feelings of love for others and the time they lived, quietly shedding light on the darkness of a "society where the cause of death is unknown".

日本每年有约20万具遗体被归为“死因不明”，真正接受法医学解剖的不足一成。为改变这一现状，厚生劳动省主导成立了拥有调查指示与解剖决定权的法医学专业团队——MEJ（Medical Examiner Japan）。
从美国归来的天才法医学者水泽真澄（藤冈靛 饰）曾参与大量检死工作。他性格独特却洞察敏锐，不被常识束缚，常以一句“这存在矛盾”追问真相。面对遗体时，他以“LOVED ONE”相称，从细微痕迹中还原逝者生前的时间与被掩盖的事实。
与他搭档的是MEJ中心长桐生麻帆（泷内公美 饰）。出身母子家庭的她立志通过制度改变社会，却在官僚体系中屡遭挫败。临危受命执掌MEJ的她虽无医学背景，却在一次次案件中直面“死因不明”背后的现实。
立场与价值观截然不同的两人，在冲突与磨合中携手挑战疑难案件，揭开死亡背后的真相。

　　该作品以1945年夏天原子弹投下后的长崎为舞台，描写了参与救护原子弹受害者的年轻护士学生田中澄、大野敦子、岩永美佐绪的1个月生活。因空袭停课而回到家乡的3人，在被原子弹烧毁的街道上，虽然还不成熟，但仍打算完成看护学生的使命。

本作は「飢えたライオン」「蒲田前奏曲」など、松林うらら名義で俳優・プロデューサーの顔も持つ彼女の長編初監督作品。性暴力やハラスメント被害者のトラウマに寄り添い、救済するためのシェアハウス“ブルーイマジン”を舞台に、心に深い傷を負った女性たちの信念、連帯、葛藤を描いた青春群像劇だ。

Physicist Manabu Yukawa returns to Japan from America. Detective Kaoru Utsumi visits him and talks about a case. The case is about a popular girl in a town who disappeared and, several years later, her body was found. A suspect was arrested for her murder. That suspect was previously arrested for another girl's murder, but he was released due to a lack of evidence. Detective Shunpei Kusanagi investigated the prior murder case. The same suspect was then released due to a lack of evidence for the most recent murder case. The released man returned to his town, where everybody hated him. On the day of the autumn festival parade, the man was killed. Physicist Manabu Yukawa, Detective Kaoru Utsumi and Detective Shunpei Kusanagi work together on his case.
