Mikhail Romanov is a judge in the Primorsky city District court. Romanov is famous for his integrity and integrity: law and justice are above all for him. One day he finds out that his son Anton is in trouble. He took a car without asking and hit a motorcyclist on it, after which he fled the scene of the crime.

A 25-year-old Gypsy car thief lives in a provincial town, the center of which is a precious metal processing plant. 20 years ago, his father died at this factory, allegedly involved in the theft of gold bars. The investigation has slowed down the case, so the Gypsy is eager to find the killer and avenge his father, whom he does not really remember. When the former director of the plant and the unspoken owner of the city Leonid Maksimovich is announced in the city, it is necessary to combine efforts to get to the truth and bring justice — everyone understands it differently.

Andrei's ex-girlfriend Tania (Anzhela Belyanskaya) has been constantly in danger of going to jail since he knew her. Their breakup was not his doing, and he is determined to keep her out of jail. Andrei (Oleg Menshikov) has a notion that, if he can raise enough money, he can smuggle her out of Russia into New York, where all will be well. While Andrei's grasp on reality may be tenuous, his ability to maneuver and scheme is unimpaired. He is a student filmmaker, and the kind of money he needs to save Tania with doesn't grow on trees. He begins raising funds by mugging men at public toilets, and graduates to stealing the drug money accumulated by more serious gangsters. After he has raised the money to accomplish his goal, his girl, the light of his life, confesses that she despises him, and then goes out and gets arrested.

The film is based on the story by a war writer Vladimir Kondratiyev "Furlough by wound" - the story of several weeks spent in Moscow by a young Lieutenant Volodya after a course of treatment in a hospital.

Sergei is a professional clown in the circus, and he knows how to make people happy. He is adopting the six-year old boy Vanka from a foster home. Sergei is a good man, who can provide unconditional love. But Sergei's wife suddenly separates from him, and Sergei is left alone with the tough decision to make.

The second Menshikov's part in Chekhov's stories' screen versions was performed in the film by Kiev director Vyacheslav Krishtofovich. Before Krishtofovich has been shooting films about common people of ordinary life. He liked leisurely flow of days and prepared his heroes for the explosion which occurred closer to the end. The sparkles of it are usually concealed in the relations between the characters until it flared up showing their new faces. Then everything cooled down and went on the usual way. But the scars from the burns remained. Forever.
Vyacheslav Krishtofovich and cameraman Vasiliy Trushkovsky interpreted this story in dark and cold colors, and that gave the film the shade of gloomy thoughtfulness: why rush about in the row of grey days? Anyway nobody loves each other; everything is vague, instant, and unstable. Only pain remains…
Menshikov played Volodya as if a bit lazily, slowly, trying not to spend himself too much, because after all everything had no sense. And in love scenes he lived as if on some other planet, not willing to shorten the distance between him and Sofia Lvovna, not letting the events develop forcefully. In other words, he kept distance between him and life. Repulsion from reality - this Chekhov's motif turned out to be the closest for the actor who felt the nature of Chekhov's type…
…Menshikov gains revenge when he sings "Mountain Peaks" with Sofia Lvovna. During these moments Volodya breaks free from the everyday life which usually blew out his best impulses. He tries to believe in the freedom from everything that surrounds and will surround him. Soft baritone sounds as a prayer, as a final confession, as a defeated hope: "You just wait a little, and you'll have some rest…" The soul longs for sympathy, salvation, peace… Volodya sings-tells that our earthly existence is something to be endured and accepted. Through Lermontov's lines, through the music, the sense of life returns to Volodya, he feels and sees its mystical ornament in blending of tragedy and beauty.

Third film based on Boris Akunin's "Priklucheniya Erasta Petrovicha Fandorina" series of novels. On a train from St. Petersburg to Moscow general Khrapov was killed and no one else but Erast Petrovich is under suspicion because the killer pretended to be Fandorin. There are initials BG on the handle of the knife Khrapov was stabbed with, the initials belong to a terrorist organization which keeps both capital cities (Moscow and St. Petersburg) in fear. This time Fandorin is not the only one trying to solve the crime, general Pozharski, a famous detective takes over the investigation...
