Jack Reacher在小说中曾经是美国陆军的军警，离开美军后他以调查员身份接手调查一些可疑或有危险性的案件。
P.S：过去曾主演过两部系列电影《侠探杰克 Jack Reacher》及《侠探杰克：永不回头 Jack Reacher: Never Go Back》的Tom Cruise不会在剧中演出。
