The singer and activist’s second album hides behind well-trodden pop star guises. Even when the lyrics point towards desperation, there’s no frisson.

This Side of Paradise is the second extended play by American singer and actress Hayley Kiyoko, released in February 3, 2015 through her independent label Rich Youth/Steel Wool Records. The entire album was produced by Kiyoko along with James Flannigan and is a pop and electronic music record. The EP was preceded by the release of the single "This Side of Paradise" in September 29, 2014.
