一天司令官将海因里希送回了莫斯科并且命令他为军队筹款，同时也对他发出警告，如果海因里希试图逃跑，他必死无疑。曾经极富盛名的银行家，现在年老体衰，衣衫褴褛的回到了莫斯科。他的别墅被抢占，成为了军队的医院，但是他至少可以收到安娜从瑞典寄来的信件。他满含热泪的读着家书……就在这个时候，他听到了低音管的声音。他跑到街上，找到了这个演奏的人，这个人就是在不莱梅港市演奏俄罗斯歌曲的街头艺人。而正是这位街头艺人让他前往莫斯科。海因里希把这次奇迹般的相遇看做是一种预兆，于是他决定独自一人不顾一切，奋不顾身的前往瑞典……
