No Woman is allowed into Karlstejn Castle! Yet the enamoured Daniele Kolářová and the equally enamoured Jana Brejchová manage to spend one night in disguise in the Castle despite the strict royal ban.

It is the 1920's. The good-looking hostess Věra demonstrates household robots to visitors of the Futurum exhibition. Young inventor Petr comes to her rescue when she tries to flee from two men wanting to take her away. Věra confesses that she has fled from home because her father, a factory owner, wanted to profitably marry her off. Petr is fascinated by the emancipated woman and shows her round his laboratory, where he plans to create a robot of his own - but one that would be far more advanced. Věra cuts herself on a broken test-tube and a drop of her blood gets in the solution. In the morning, they are taken aback to see Věra's double. This lucky chance has helped Petr create an artificial being, Miss Golem. She has a single motive for her actions: to take care of Věra and allow her to do only what is good for her.

A young, unmarried woman finds herself a "little bit pregnant" and she tries to hide this fact from her mother but it isn't long before the truth is obvious.

This three-part Austrian/Czech comedy stretches the boundaries of what is considered to be humorous. Part one finds a silent film actor upset because of a rival actor's attention to the former's wife. When he kills his rival, it is only when he is strapped to the electric chair that he realizes that this is his last live scene. The second episode has the wife of an elderly British nobleman having an affair with the young gamekeeper of their estate. Part three finds a peasant woman taking a lover when her husband goes off to fight the war.

Jan Poutnik (Vladimir Pucholt) was born in Czechoslovakia but has emigrated to the United States, where he teaches film courses at a New York college. Pampeliska (Ingrid Timkova), a young widow from Jan's home town of Bystre, has come to America to visit, and has brought with her a pocket watch once owned by Jan's father, which she presents to him. Jan introduces Pampeliska to his close friend Adam (Adam Davidson), and soon Adam finds himself falling in love with the widow, while Jan finds his mind filled with thoughts of Bystre, some nostalgic and some poisoned by the horrors of war. In time, both Jan and Adam pay a visit to the Czech Republic, though their reactions are very different.
