好莱坞翻拍潮愈演愈烈，据外媒报道，经典西部片《日落黄沙》将重新翻拍，而担任新版影片导演的是曾执导《勇敢的心》《血战钢锯岭》的梅尔·吉布森。
不过眼下梅尔·吉布森恐怕无瑕估计这部经典的翻拍，他手头正在筹备二战题材影片《驱逐舰》，这部影片将于明年在澳大利亚投入拍摄，想要看到新版《日落黄沙》恐怕还要再等几年。

近日吉姆·卡维泽接受外媒Breitbart News采访时透露，梅尔·吉布森计划拍摄该片续集，取名叫《耶稣受难记：复活》。
卡维泽表示，“我已经读了他给我的第三稿剧本，这将是影史最大规模的电影。”采访中，卡维泽甚至把耶稣和超级英雄对比，暗示影片会出现各种神迹的镜头，能和《十诫》《宾虚》这样的经典大片相提并论。
