In an effort to find an economic means of purifying salt water, a joint U.S.-Japanese military command is set up on an isolated Japanese island where an unusual salt water lake is situated. However, their purifying experiments arouse the prehistoric monster Obaki from hibernation at the lake's bottom, and it proceeds to attack Japan. Although made by a U.S. independent film company, this film was based on a Japanese Toho monster film of 1958, "Daikaiju Varan", from which all of the monster effects scenes and a few incidental dramatic shots were edited into it.

Yuzo Kayama plays the protagonist, a whale-hunting cannon manufactuing supervisor, whose brother is an automobile tester for Komatsu Motors which has a fatal accident. As his brother investigates the "Accident" with his old college friend (makoto Sato), now a reporter... They stumble across murder, espionage and cover-ups. High-class night club, femme fatale, and a "Blueprint of Murder" all adds up to a bigger plot then first expected.

The 14th and final "Crazy" feature. The Crazy Cats reunited (minus Ishibashi, who had by then retired from the team) for one last feature, Jun Ichikawa's odd Memories of You (Kaisha mono-gatari, 1988) released by Shochiku. Most of the cast of Crazy lrresponsibles at Shimizu Harbor (1966) return in this sequel.

Hayata is a member of the Science Patrol, an organization tasked with investigating bizarre anomalies. 昭和20年（公元1945年）8月14日，英国、美国与中华民国所发起的《波茨坦宣言》要求日本无条件投降，日本政府召开御前会议，昭和天皇向铃木贯太郎内阁众大臣宣告日本要无条件投降的事实；使得许多日本陆军年轻军官不满，想尽办法夺走天皇录好的宣告无条件投降的唱片（玉音放送）。当天下午12时，陆军部分军官发起宫城事件、以及海军航空队小园安名大佐在厚木基地的叛乱事件，造成一系列骚动。

創価学会の誕生を描いた「人間革命」の続編。創価学会を大きくしようと努力を続けていた戸田は、勉強会で熱心に戸田の話を聞いていた山本伸一を経営する正学館に採用、『少年日本』の編集長に抜擢する。しかし、事業はうまくいかず、営業停止になってしまう。会員でヤクザの組長である島谷が資金援助を申し込むが、戸田は断る。数日後、島谷は抗争により死亡してしまい、そのことがもとで、戸田は宗教の道に専心することを決意するのだった。

The year is 1988, and in the midst of recovering from a near-miss with a large comet, Earth finds that there are much worse matters at hand: the sudden arrival of a strange army of aliens and their fleet of unstoppable warships.

A massive underwater volcano erupts and puts a group of investigative scientists in danger. They are rescued by an atomic super submarine named The Alpha under the command of Captain McKenzie. The group is quickly taken to a vast underwater city known as Latitude Zero, a fantastic, Atlantean type utopia, a world beneath the ocean with its own sun. It is soon discovered that Captain McKenzie is at war with the evil Dr. Malic, a cruel scientist who wishes to rule mankind all the while conducting genetic experiments on humans and animals. Malic sends his agents to kidnap Dr. Okada, a human scientist who has created a serum that can immunize exposure to radiation.

鬼童子信之・由美子の長男・乙彦が過激派の連合共赤軍による八ケ岳山荘事件に連座してから一年が経過しようとしていた。事件直後、鬼童子家には様々な投書や中傷、投石などの嫌がらせが続き、由美子は次第に精神が病んでいった。長女・珠江はフィアンセの親から婚約解消を言い渡され、次男の修は白け切っている。そんな中で信之だけは、成人に達した乙彦の犯罪は彼個人の問題で家族は一切関係ないという態度を崩さず、他の犯人の親とは違って謝罪らしい言葉は洩らさなかった。子供たちの信之への反撥、由美子の入院で崩壊寸前の鬼童子家を支えていたのは由美子の姉・貴和だった。喜和は厚生省の課長という独身の超キャリア・ウーマンである。又、頑なな愛憎を抱き合う信之と乙彦のパイプ役になったのは、信之の大学の先輩・川辺弁護士だった。ある日、信之は川辺から乙彦には朝野みよ子という恋人がいて、彼女は乙彦の子を身ごもっていると聞かされる。一方、珠江は婚約解消されたフィアンセと密かに逢瀬を続け、喜和の手助けで信之には内緒で結婚、アメリカに渡ることを決意する。信之は喜和の配慮に頭を下げ、事件後の自分にとって喜和は唯一の心の安らぎであることを痛感する。旅先で出会った民族学の研究生・香苗も信之にとっては華やかで眩しい存在だった。香苗の兄・朗は学生運動で右手の自由を失った青年画家で、東京下町の香苗の一家も一歩誤れば鬼童子家と同じ道を辿ったかもしれないという思いが、香苗と信之を結びつけていた。そんなとき、由美子が喜和のマンションから飛び降り自殺をはかった。珠江の結婚に強い衝撃を受けたことと、喜和と信之の関係に疑問を抱いたことが原因と思われた。それに追い討ちをかけるように、ハイジャック事件が起きた。犯人たちは日本政府に同志の釈放と身代金を要求、その中に乙彦の名もあった。政府はこれに対して超法規という手段で応じ、乙彦たちは国外に去ることが決定した。法律を守ることに全てを捧げてきた信之の中で何かが音をたてて崩れはじめた。さらに、獄中の中で生命だけは保障されていた息子が二度と日本に帰ることのない危険この上ない旅に出る衝撃が信之をぶちのめした。喜和の必死の説得も虚しく、乙彦の日本を去る決意は変わらない。乙彦は喜和から、愛した女性が子供を産み元気でいることだけを聞いてダッカ行きの飛行機に乗り込んだ。それを京浜島から見送る信之と修。やがて信之は、息子の愛した女性と、信之の孫に当たる子供を訪ねて北海道に旅立った。

一九八一年、八月五日。非行少年小此木次郎は行きずりの少女を追いかけ、婦女暴行未遂でブタ箱に入れられた。次郎はそこで、無銭飲食の中高年たちに出会う。彼らは自分たちを独立国〈ヤマタイ国〉の国民と称している。翌朝、それぞれに釈放されるが、次郎は彼らのことが気になり、お手伝いのタミ子とヤマタイ国を探した。何とそこは、蒸発中の次郎の父が彼らに無償で提供していた家作で、母が立ち退きを迫っていた。そこへ乗りこんだ次郎は、敵の身内であることがバレて、スパイは死刑と宣告されるが、帰化を条件に許される。かくして、おかしな共同生活が始まるが、老人たちに、十八歳の少年は宇宙人のように見える。やがてヤマタイ国は次郎の母、小此木家に宣戦布告する。その頃、ヤマタイ国の家の下に不発爆弾が見つかった。そこへ、保険金殺人事件を追う老刑事と若い刑事、関西から来た殺し屋が絡み、少年と彼らが出会った十日目の八月十五日、不発弾が爆発、ヤマタイ国はフッ飛んでしまった。そして、領土を捨てたヤマタイ国の国民は、流浪の旅に出発した。
