The story revolves around a man who unintentionally kills his mistress during an argument. It’s an accident. As a result of – or thanks to (?) – a particular set of circumstances, the evidence points towards somebody else: his best friend’s wife. Will his fear of being arrested, the consequences of his cowardice and the weight of his guilt force him to accept reality and give himself up?

The Farels are a power couple: Jean is a prominent French pundit and his wife Claire an essayist known for her radical feminism.
