Netflix在戛纳电影节积极抢到了这个项目，认为有意思，因为“说不定你发的微博也能拍成电影~”，该片就源于Tumblr上的一条用户发言。2014年蕾哈娜和露皮塔一起看Miu Miu的秀，一张照片流出后，图中这位汤主说：这看起来像一部劫盗片，蕾哈娜是强硬的领头大盗，露皮塔是天才黑客！
然后网友们纷纷响应，把这条推火了，并且除了主演，导演和编剧网友们也已想好，希望是杜威内和Rae，这事传到了图中主角那里，露皮塔艾特了蕾哈娜，蕾哈娜答应了，杜威内和Rae也都答应了，组局开始。然后蕾哈娜出现在了戛纳，而这个项目，真在那里组成了。
