一个教皇，一个公爵，如果再加一个艺术家和一个政治学者，一幅文艺复兴时期的图画就更加完整了。失去了与文艺复兴的联系，这些“文艺复兴教皇”的道德沦丧与政治权术，就被电影简化了，成了我们熟悉的宫廷血腥与厚黑学，只不过从我们熟悉的皇宫，换成了我们不熟悉的教廷。
