1950’s, France, by the serene banks of the Marne River.
François, a daydreaming child of boundless imagination, has his life changed when his father decides to start building a boat in the garden. Thus begins the family’s grand odyssey, a collective venture to construct a boat that would carry them away – somewhere between reality and reverie.

Kid, a 15-year-old hard laborer, steals a map that promises to reveal the location of the notorious pirate Black Mor's treasure. Together with his crew -- MacGregor, Beanpole, Taka and Jim the monkey -- Kid procures a vessel and sets out to sea.

Gwen is a young girl adopted by a nomad tribe in a desert post-apocalyptic world. When Gwen's friend is kidnapped, she and an old woman called Roseline embark on a trip to bring him back.

On the last day of summer in a small seaside resort town, an older woman named Louise realizes that the last train has departed without her. She finds herself alone in the town, abandoned by everyone. As the weather turns for the worse and with no one to keep her company, louise must rely on her past to help her survive the present.

On a bright summer's day in the early 20th century, a young man sits on a cliff by the sea to practice his cello. Unfortunately, the young man's ferocious playing style rouses up a storm which causes the waves to sweep a young woman (who was gathering shrimp by the shore) out to sea. The heroic cellist dives in to save the woman and finds himself battling some sea creatures for posession of both the woman and his cello.

Three characters living in an unfinished painting venture out into the real world in search of their creator to convince him to finish his work.
