本劇是90年代倫敦西區及百老匯的走紅劇，並榮獲1991年Lawrence Olivier Award 的「最佳喜劇獎」，歐美各地的主要劇團均曾公演此劇。1999年由楊世彭博士翻譯執導，於台北國家劇院公演，由李立群、趙自強、季芹、唐從聖等主演，反應極為熱烈。
