The state is a gargantuan machine, designed to facilitate and protect the process of feeding people to monsters. Without the state, the monsters would still be trying to eat us, and in some ways the situation would be even more horrific. Less "orderly". Some of the monsters even want it like that, even though most of them understand it's all more efficient and effective how things work now.

Once you realize this awful, intolerable truth, you're only left with two options:
You could fight the monsters AND the machine. With all your heart, with vanishing odds, with your friends and family fighting by your side.
Or, you could join the machine. Maybe you think you can change things from the inside, or that at least they won't eat YOU. But ultimately... you will become a monster yourself in the process.
