白蛇素贞（赵雅芝 饰）还是一条没有什么法力的小蛇时曾被捕蛇老人所抓，幸得一小牧童相救。素贞心内发誓，一定要报答这份救命之恩。一千年以后，白蛇修成人身，往人间报恩时相遇青蛇小青（陈美琪 饰），将其驯服，以姊妹相称。得到菩萨明示之后，素贞前往杭州西湖找到了千年后的小牧童、此 时是一个药堂的学徒许仙（叶童 饰）。天上降下大方贤惠又漂亮的女子，自然是呆学生许仙所不曾妄想的。而巧用妙计的素贞让二人相识不久很快就结成秦晋之好。而法海为报多年前受白素贞所戏，夺去天庭上仙赐予之可增进六百年修为的金丹之仇，胁持许仙进而设计白素贞水漫金山犯下弥天大错，因此原由待其子文曲星离体落地满月后便被法海收镇于雷峰塔下静心修炼，以赎前业。素贞再也无法逃脱，被压在雷锋塔下。要等他年儿子高中状元，才可盼望从中复出……

当红股票经纪方进新（刘松仁）被相交数十年的朋友丁蟹（郑少秋）杀死后，所遗四子女得继室罗惠玲（蓝洁瑛）照顾长大成人，长子方展博（刘青云）在事业迷茫之际得其生前旧友叶天（罗乐林）教诲，决定继承父业。得悉当年被关进台湾监狱里的丁蟹已潜逃返港时，方展博立誓要为父报仇，终令其再入 监狱，却也因此得罪了其有庞大黑社会背景的儿子丁孝蟹（邵仲衡）、丁益蟹（陶大宇）等人，弄得一家人除他之外先后都死于这伙人之手。

Charlie Simms is a student at a private preparatory school who comes from a poor family.
