贫富不均对社会有什么影响？穷人真能掌握自己的未来？国际非营利组织STEPS INTERNATIONAL 所推动的《为什么贫穷？》（Why Poverty?）跨媒体计划，参与协同制作工作，与全球同步播出一系列探讨21世纪贫穷问题的纪录片。
《为什么贫穷？》是由总部位于丹麦的国际非营利组织STEPS INTERNATIONAL推动的非商业计划。Steps曾在2007年推动过《为什么要民主？》（Why Democracy?）。而《为什么贫穷？》即以此为基础，希望用影片刺激大众讨论贫穷问题；计划共同发起人还有英国广播公司（BBC）和丹麦广播公司（DR），这两家电视台也是本计划的主要合作伙伴和推动者。
这计划邀请了来自世界各地的纪录片导演，以“为什么贫穷”为共同题目，拍摄了每集一小时共八集的纪录片，让世界共同思考贫穷问题，探讨全球10亿赤贫人口的过去与未来。本系列纪录片于2012年11月起全球播放，台湾PTS与英国BBC、美国PBS、日本NHK、香港RTHK等在内的70余家电视台均加入联合播出，估计观众总数超过 5 亿人。

故事发生在清朝乾隆初年，少女魏璎珞（吴谨言 饰）随一众同龄秀女入选皇宫。璎珞美丽机敏，蕙质兰心，可是她入宫的初衷与其他女孩有所不同。由于姐姐被人杀害，璎珞决心进入紫禁城追查凶手。她误认为皇帝的弟弟傅恒（许凯 饰）是幕后真凶，于是假意接近对方。在解除误会后，璎珞发现自己也 喜欢上了这名男子。富察皇后（秦岚 饰）欣赏璎珞的聪颖，于是将其留在身边，悉心调教。一入宫门，万劫不复，宫中的女人为了取得乾隆皇帝（聂远 饰）的宠幸，不惜勾心斗角，暗刀杀人。在丧失人性的修罗场，璎珞为了保护自己不得不出手反抗。她与皇帝接触越来越多，也开始得到皇帝的宠爱。

故事发生在清朝，又一批新的秀女从地方推荐到京城参加选举了，其中包括湖广总督的女儿侯佳玉莹（黎姿 饰）、出身上三旗的尔淳（佘诗曼 饰）等名门望族的女儿。岂料，半路运送这些秀女的官车遭到山贼打劫，官兵都被山贼杀害，眼看这些秀女就要落入山贼手中。这时，运送贡品香芒上京的孔武（陈豪 饰）和陈爽路过，将秀女救下。随后，他们历尽艰苦躲过追杀，终于将秀女安全护送到京。

The second season of the ABC American television drama series Revenge started on September 30, 2012 on Sundays. An hour long recap show of the first season called "The First Chapter" showed a week before the premiere on September 26, 2012 at 9:00 pm Eastern/8:00 pm Central. The series stars Madeleine Stowe and Emily VanCamp. This season premiere has received mixed response from critics, with many praising the acting while criticizing the plot, saying that it didn't live up to the suspense of the first season, though reviews did improve as the season progressed.
