A wealthy entrepreneur secretly creates a theme park featuring living dinosaurs drawn from prehistoric DNA. Before opening day, he invites a team of experts and his two eager grandchildren to experience the park and help calm anxious investors. However, the park is anything but amusing as the security systems go off-line and the dinosaurs escape.

在湘北篮球队中，队长赤木刚宪是赤木晴子的哥哥，他是一位一直缺少好队友而走在低谷的优秀中锋，怀有带领球队称霸全国的梦想。这一年，篮球超级新人流川枫和天赋异禀的篮球门外汉樱木花道相同时加入湘北篮球队，曾因受到腿伤打击，误入歧途的初中MVP，神射手三井寿和因斗殴住院的电光火石，小个子控球后卫，宫城良田（一译：宫城良太）重返队伍，使赤木那句“称霸全国”不再是梦。由于晴子暗恋酷酷的流川枫，樱木视流川枫为死敌，两人经常打闹，但心底都还是佩服着对方的篮球才能。县大赛时，赤木刚宪，流川枫，宫城良田，三井寿和樱木花道五位主力通力合作，战胜翔阳，陵南等强敌，终于以神奈川县亚军的身份拿到全国大赛的入场券，赤木和流川枫也入选了县高中篮球赛最佳阵容（MVP），樱木花道则成长为一名篮板高手。

全国联赛第一场，经过苦战，湘北战胜了A级球队丰玉高中。第二战遇到了不可一世的山王工高——连续3年的全国冠军，而且山王比以往更强。湘北与之苦战，樱木为了救球撞伤了脊椎……最后以1分险胜，且最后一球是樱木和流川两人可遇而不可求的精彩配合，樱木跳投完成绝杀。但是下一场比赛对阵爱和学院，湘北却因为损耗太大而惨败……
