John Carpenter's ode to Hong Kong kung fu movies. With Kurt Russell playing perfectly the "white-saviour-is-really-just-a-braggart-who-gets-saved-by-the-Chinese-hero-over-and-over-again" in that string of great Carpenter/Russell collaborations of the 80s. A thoroughly enjoyable blend of action, comedy and fantasy.
