《地下室手记》体现了陀思妥耶夫斯基诗学的全部艺术特色，内容深刻，形式诡异，既像小说，又像忏悔录，又像哲学论文。作品主人公既像坏人，又像好人；既像小人，又像一个饱经沧桑、逆来顺受的人；既像英雄，又像“非英雄”，又什么都不像。……“地下室人”被认为是“自我中心主义者的典型”，但是又有人认为， “地下室人”是俄国的哈姆雷特，是“多余人”的当代变形。

A single middle aged lady working as receptionist and cleaner in a public lavatory for men spends her time between chores reading "Happy Woman" and daydreaming about a loving partner. When an unknown man starts leaving flowers at her desk, she gets excited but also increasingly stressed out trying to figure out who is her secret admirer or, perhaps, the prankster.

Katya and her 6-year-old son Sanya, who, in 1952, meet a veteran Soviet officer named Tolyan. Katya falls in love with Tolyan, who turns out to be a small time criminal, but who also becomes a father figure to Sanya ...

两只公牛拖着一辆沉重的车经过一个水塘时，一只因被缰绳绊住脖子身陷泥沼，另一只离它而去。身陷泥沼的公牛奋力走出水塘，在旷野发出凄悲的低鸣，引来狼、鹿等动物的注意，纷纷来到它的身旁。狼试图将有公牛在此的消息告知正在山顶沉睡的狮子，狮子没睁眼作理会。
狮子醒来下山，吼声引来诸多动物的恐慌，纷纷逃开。看到公牛时，狮子本欲进攻，但因没看出对方对自己有何威胁作罢，其后，它和公牛成为朋友。狮子和公牛的亲密关系招来狼的嫉妒，大概也因想做大王，它开始挑拨离间，妄图狮子和公牛互相攻击两败俱伤，最终，它如愿以偿。

The beautiful Tanya returns to her small mining town, after supposedly working as a model in Moscow. She decides to marry her shy school sweetheart Mishka, who now works in the mine. The miners finally receive some pay, but Mishka still ends up with no money to buy his bride a gift, so he seeks the help of his perpetually drunk buddy Garkusha. Mishka's poor working-class family all help to put on a fine wedding with copious amounts of vodka, even though they are suspicious of Tanya's occupation in Moscow, and of her connection with her Mafia ex-boyfriend Borodin.
