鬼冢英吉（反町隆史 饰）是一名九流大学的毕业生，不仅学业一塌糊涂，就连以往记录也惨不忍睹，他曾当过暴走族、空手道5段，常人眼中的他可说是相当恐怖的街头混混。但英吉却有自己的梦想，那就是当一名中学老师，因为中学里有无数漂亮的美眉，一想到这英吉就经常双眼发亮。然而英吉费劲心机都没能通过公立学校的考试，于是他跑到了一家私立的中学武藏野圣林学苑应征。尽管包括教务处长内山田等人的强烈反对，但是深感学校弊端的校董觉得是应该让英吉这样的人来挑战一下传统教育的时候了。于是，英吉被录取，并被拍到问题少年最多、无人敢接手的二年四班当班主任。英吉的挑战开始了！

故事内容延续第一部TV版攻壳机动队STAND ALONE COMPLEX的剧情继续发展。但TV版的2部作品与剧场版无甚联系，可以看做是两个平行世界里发生的事情。
这次TV版第2季的制作班底与第一部相同，同时剧情表达上和第一季一样，每话由不同故事构成，各自独立成章，却贯穿着同一条主线。在剧情上同时电影版导演押井守也参与了协力，不过电影版中凄凉的气氛没有在TV版第二季中体现。
