夜色中，漂浮在水面上的老鼠突然听见远处传来天籁般的歌声。灯火阑珊处，他匆忙上前寻找，发现一群老鼠正在聚会。聚会的舞台异常特别，因为舞台的顶端睡着一只懒洋洋的猫。他们欢声笑语，纸醉金迷，丝毫不担心这只猫会一觉醒来，吃掉他们。在黑暗的树丛中，孤单的老鼠形单影只，他看见了一只瘦小的蜘蛛，就跟自己一样寂寞。他提着灯笼，只有微弱的灯光，而远处却是一片灯火通明。突然间，一只老鼠大喊让大家撤离，猫就要醒来了。老鼠偷偷的搭上了他们的舞台。猫还是一觉不醒。老鼠们越跑越快，舞台翻倒在树丛里。猫仍沉睡不醒。老鼠们提着灯笼上前一探究竟。慌乱中，猫微微地睁开了眼镜……尾声：老鼠仿佛看见了猫正在水墨江山中，安然地睡在一个摇篮里，永不醒来。
这部由吉林动画学院选送的Dmitry Geller导演的无对白动画短片《猫和老鼠谁将被埋葬》，入围第85届奥斯卡动画短片，并获得2012年日本广岛国际动画节最佳动画短片大奖。
