@prometheanbound Sadly, not only tankies have illusions about China. Many leftists from different factions shares the illusions. I think it's partly because that they naively think that since America is bad, any enemy of America must be good guy, especially if that enemy calls itself "socialist". They failed to remember that in the past, fascists also called themselves "socialists" (national socialists) and they were also enemies of the US. Actually fascism of the 20th century is what most resembles China today ---- a capitalist economy, an one-party state, and an extreme nationalist ideology combined.
