FKA twigs announced “Don’t Judge Me” on January 25th, 2021, the day before its release date on her Instagram. She also confirmed contributions from UK rapper Headie One and producer Fred again.., alongside music video direction led by herself and Emmanuel Adjei.
twigs and Headie talk about their respective struggles and ask for compassion; twigs is in search of a lover who’ll accept her and match her energy, and Headie vents about the struggles of being a black man in the UK, sharing his experiences about facing racial discrimination and police brutality.
In 2020, twigs featured on Headie One and Fred’s collaborative project, GANG, on an interlude with a similar name, “Judge Me”. This song serves as the complete version of “Judge Me”.
