Most people in the world who know a domestic cat understand the wild look in their pet's eye. This film looks at those thinly veiled behaviors between domestic cats and their wild cousins and ancestors, specifically to draw those parallels and to explain to 'owners' what they are seeing when they watch their cat. There are scenes of cats leaping, landing, running up trees like leopards and all the behaviors we are used to seeing in domestic cats, but drawn exactly from their wild equivalent

2007 EMMY AWARD WINNER OUTSTANDING SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND NATURE PROGRAMMING Eye of the Leopard takes us on an enthralling journey deep into the rarely seen lives of leopards. Award-winning filmmakers, Dereck and Beverly Joubert capture a remarkably intimate and gripping story of a leopard’s survival in wild, unspoiled Africa over a period of three years. It’s a journey of birth, life and death as a mother leopard and her first surviving cub fight off marauding baboons and elude scavenging hyenas in a constant struggle for survival. Through tragedy and triumph, the Jouberts are there to document it all. Narrated by Jeremy Irons.

In Botswana's Okavango Delta, an ostracized lioness and her two cubs must fight alone to survive - overcoming all manner of hazards. Their only defense is to escape to Duba Island -- and with that, an unknown future. The setting for this epic tale is one of the last regions where lions can live in the wild. Faced with dwindling land and increasing pressure from hunting, lions - like our lone lioness and her cubs - are approaching the brink of extinction.
