Un marido dominado por su autoritaria esposa fallece víctima de un ataque cardíaco el día en que ella lo obliga a afeitarse su querida barba para acudir a un baile de disfraces vestido de torero. Su espectro comienza entonces a pasearse por la casa y a provocar los más inesperados enredos. Cuando, finalmente, consigue materializarse decide instalarse definitivamente y recuperar a su mujer, que se ha convertido mientras tanto en un ser dulce y comprensivo.
