Belgrade, 1999. Producer Sergei and his film crew are in a disastrous situation - the film they're making is under threat - there's no money, the crew are dissatisfied - and NATO bombing is just around the corner. Then a member of the State Security Service (Mileta) comes looking for American co-producer Harvey. Anxious and worried, in the midst of the bombing that's begun, Sergei hides Harvey from what he thinks is awaiting him - arrest. During the night, he thinks up a plan. He announces the start of filming on a new, patriotic film - in which the main role will be played by Harvey. The plan works - the State supports the film and Mileta, as the State's representative, joins the crew. However, the underlying conflict between Mileta and Sergei explodes during the first screening. Mileta accuses them of being artists, and not being patriots.

Three kidnappers are out to get Lepa Brena, the most popular singer in Yugoslavia. Policemen are on their trail, but Lepa Brena is not helpful being on a massive Yugoslavian tour with her band "Slatki Greh", a manager and their crazy bus driver Gile. And even the band members have their own problems, many of them being horny groupies of Bale, the guy with the flute.

After WW II many young people arrive to Zagreb, among them a young worker Sonja Kacar. She is supposed to participate in the construction of the first generator in the Rade Koncar factory. Because there aren't enough experts and materials in Yugoslavia, the factory counts on help from fellow communist countries, Czechoslovakia and Soviet Union. However, after the Inform Bureau's resolution this help is no longer available. Sonja experiences a great intimate disappointment because Stjepan, who she is in love with, supports Stalin.

Zivanovic`s ride into the sunset, 21 February 2003 Author: dima-12 from Belgrade, Serbia RVZA is the final film in Zivanovic`s opus. His demise began after the political prosecution of his UZROK SMRTI NE POMINJATI. Afterwards he made two exploitation pictures that were extremely bankable due to their folk music appeal and partly funded by certain Yugoslav factories that were located in regions where these features were filmed. RVZA is the third film in that mould and certainly the weakest. From the craftsmanshiop point of view, RVZA looks better than NAIVKO, when it comes to pacing and editing but Juan Ferro`s coloring patterns reached the low in this film. The story follows romantic life of country girl Andjelija who tries to pursue a career in folk music. She is desperately in love with local poet and pipe player. Her evil mother, the owner of local motel engages her to a low key redneck waiter and cruel folk music managers try to sexually abuse her... This essentially dark story is done as a comedy like most of the Communist films that depict life in the Serbian countryside. If RVZA wasn`t made as a comedy, it would have been a poignant ethic fable in the Paul Schrader vein. But as it is, it is a broad Zivanovic flop. RVZA is Zivanovic`s last picture.
