After spending the night together with her idol, Sinclair, Léa hopes to see him again soon. She still finds it difficult to quite grasp what has happened to her when a trivial accident brutally puts an end to her dream.

Pour comprendre cette famille, il faut revenir en 1985, lorsque Pablo avait 20 ans et qu’il a rencontré Gabrielle et Malika. Avec d’autres bénévoles et des bénéficiaires, Pablo, Gabrielle et Malika vont faire vivre une antenne de La Cantine solidaire, une association qui distribue des repas aux plus fragilisés. Certains y trouvent un refuge, d’autres une vocation.

Architecte d'intérieur fraîchement embauchée en CDI, Charlotte a des projets plein la tête et une vie bien remplie. Entre faire ses preuves au sein de sa nouvelle agence et la restauration du vieux mas provençal que Damien, son compagnon, souhaite transformer en chambre d’hôtes, elle court toute la journée… Alors, quand ses proches la harcèlent sur son désir de maternité, Charlotte, qui ne s’était pour le moment pas posé la question, noie le poisson pour n'offenser personne. Lorsque Émilie, une potentielle cliente qu'elle doit encore séduire, lui confie ses problèmes d’infertilité, Charlotte, sans vraiment réfléchir et pour mettre court à cette question qu'on lui pose inlassablement, laisse entendre qu’elle non plus n’arrive pas à avoir d’enfant.
