IDFA AWARD-WINNER 2015 ‘AT HOME IN THE WORLD’ is an intimate depiction of the everyday lives of five refugee children on a Danish Red Cross asylum school.
The children; Magomed, Sehmuz, Heda, Amel and Ali have different nationalities and backgrounds, but they have all fled their homes with their families, arriving in Denmark with the hope of starting over.
For the last eight years in a row, Koefoed’s films have been selected for the biggest documentary film festival in the world; IDFA in Amsterdam, where his films have been nominated for awards four times.

Following the release of their fourth album ‘Piramida’, Efterklang presents ‘The Ghost Of Piramida’, a film by Danish director Andreas K oefoed, that documents the Danish trio’s visit to the abandoned Russian mining town Piramida on Spitsbergen.
Accompanied by their taciturn and not visibly impressed Russian polar bear guard, the group goes on a treasure hunt in the empty buildings of the ghost town, while the narrator, the former Piramida-citizen Alexander, takes us back to a bygone era, when Piramida flourished and the immigrant Russian miners and their families lived in a Soviet parallel society far from the brutal reality of their homeland.
‘The Ghost Of Piramida’ had its offical world premiere November 18th 2012 at IDFA in Amsterdam. Same month it was screened at CPH:DOX in Copenhagen. The film was nominated in the Best Music Documentary category at both festivals. For news on additional screenings please see the Screenings Calendar.
