An irresponsible youngster locks horns with one of his relatives in a rural election.

A young man tries to make a case for his neighbouring village, which depends on his village for water. However, the men who call the shots in the place, especially the father of the girl he is in love with, will not give in that easily.

Arikki is a wastrel, who has led a vain and aimless life. He meets Maheshwari, who then becomes the reason for his existence. After several comic escapades, the two elope but are chased by Maheshwari’s terrifying brother, who has sworn to avenge his humiliation by spilling Arikki's blood.

Veluthambi, who aspires for a government job, finds himself teaching poor children in a village. When he learns that they are appointed as bonded labourers, he decides to bring about a change.
